Agree! I had a set on my 06 Street Glide. The brackets mount pretty easily and the hardware is heavy duty. However, the kit comes with plastic covers to hide the nut and bolt where they're mounted to the forks. Cheap. I lost 2 within a few months and had to live with the bolts showing. The lighting on my 14 equipped with Harley driving lights are 100% better quality and lighting is superior.

I agree that that Harley parts are expensive. My brother picked up a new Ultra and stopped by the other night to show it off. All I can say is "WOW" those lights were bright and seemed to have a good spread about them. My point is sometimes you get what you pay for so it may be worth it to save for the Daymaker driving lights.

Default Engine guard light mounts

Been researching auxiliary lights, would really love to get the daymaker reflector aux lights, until i found out i would need an additional bracket that costs $350! So been looking at these http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/3/Driving-Lights

anybody running the kuryakyn setup, do they help much at night? Was also researching fog lights mounted to the crash bar or brake calipers, would these work better for night riding on back country roads?
I run these on 2014 SGS, they are bigger and brighter. Great for night time, and day time. It lets these crazy *** drivers see ya. It will save you some money and you will get more light. If you do get them make sure you tell the mechanic to make sure they give you extra length of wire on the inside. This will help you when it comes to changing the bulbs out, trust me.

I have a question for those who have purchased the HD auxiliary kit for a Street Glide.

It says the Auxiliary Lamp Bulbs and Bullet Turn Signal Kits sold separately. Can I just use my existing bullet turn signals?

Beware if you get the Harley kit, the pic is decieving, it shows turn signal cans in the pic, but they don't come with the kit, you have to buy the correct turn signal kit to go with the brackets. I used the HD kit on my Road King, they look a lot better than the old bar style if you ask me.
My old handlebar mounted turn signals would not fit on the brackets (the mounts were different).
I had to buy new ones, also a set of bulbs for the passing lamps, whatever you choose.

EDIT to add.... it appears that the ad on the HD page is contradictory.
In the description it says "aux lamp bulbs and bullet turn signals sold separately"
but if you click on "features" it says that "bullet turn signals are in the box"
and the only thing listed that is needed separately are the "aux lamp bulbs"

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...11-67800367--1

so, apparently they have changed the kit, and forgot to change the description?
I do think the old pics of that kit didn't show the turn signal cans on them.
I know mine did not come with them, but that was 2 yrs ago, but the price seems to be the same.
hmmmm

Motolights work great and mount nice and clean on calipers.

Almost decided on the moto lights, but would they give as much "useable" light as the harley aux lights? Had a set of Clearwater lights on my hayabusa, same concept as moto lights, fork mounted and they were led (cost about $500!), but the light output at night wasn't that great, wasn't very happy with them

The Kury version was on my SG when I bought it. I am pretty happy with them and have no problems with the chrome, they appear to be better quality than other Kury stuff I have encountered. I do not think they put out near as much light a the HD Aux lights I had on my Road King. The previous owner had also installed the HD fog lights on the crash bar and between the two, or with both on, I think it's plenty.
