Welcome. BUT I should warn you, this site is addicting. I am on here ever night. love ready all the post and replying to them. This site is great. And a lot of good information.
Waiting for the '08 is a good idea. But it will be hard this summer watching all the bikes riding around and having to wait. In the meantime, if it is viable to you, rent a few bikes you are interested in, they wont be exactly the same as the '08 you want, but you may be able to nail down the model you want.
Wait !!!, I got in a hurry and bought mine in May last year and wound up with an 06/88 with all the left over /miss matched parts. In my case with the model change, Ive had problems with intake manifold with casting holes in it. an engine that the oil light comes on when idling, and lifter noise at 80 mph that comes and goes, depending on throttle position. And the price will be cheaper on an 07 if you decide to buy one of them. IMO Dan
So when does hd-public (jone-q public) know what the 08 models will be?
shortly before June/july, june/july or not until aug/sept (would seem unlikely).
if we would know in May that is...my goodness, just several weeks away.
someone thought that would be putting a vrod engine into a touring layout for 08. yes I know, just words unless it really happens
As tough as it is I'd save your pennies and wait until the fall, if there aren't significant changes in the 08's you can pick up the 07's at much better prices. One thing is certain , the 08 EPA regulations are even more stringent. It is highly like from all the sources I've talked with the motors will be running even leaner , and a possibility for less modifications allowed. ( at least legally under EPA/by dealer)
