1-Its like traveling with an instent yellow pages.HD dealers,resturants,gas,lodging,attractions,parks.. on and on are right there.
2-ask a local about there favorite place, restuarant and all you need is the name or part of the name and you are there,(they dont even know they just told you how to get there and the phone number
)3-can extemperainiously pick roads and see where you are going and get unlost if needed.
Took a couple evenings to read directions and figure out the meat and potatos of using a gps.
The more advanced type of directions(maps,routes..ect) Not really neccessary for me.
I just received the unit yesterday, charged it up last night and will use the weekend to update the firmware and related software and generally play around with it. I think this site was mentioned somewhere in another post but I found it to be a great forum for those who do own a Zumo:

Don't people get lost anymore? Some of my best rides have been found by accident. GPS units locks you in to the same set of paths as everyone else. Don't get me wrong, GPS units are great for cagers or people on a schedule. IMHO touring is not always defined by the destination. Just another opinion, everyones got one.
