Default Grips

So my ape's will be here next Tuesday, I have everything I need for the install hell my bike is even on the lift torn down. But no matter how hard to I try I cant seem to pick a set of grips. So I thought I would ask the forum what grips people are running and what you like about them or dislike about them.

I haven't been here long but I am trying to do a bunch of reading. I think two of the more used grips here are the Harley Get-a-Grip or the Kuryakyn ISO grips. I had the Kury ISO grip on my last bike and I liked them.

I am planning on doing beach bars on my 2013 RK next spring and I will be in the same boat you are. What the other guy said makes since also ... follow your theme. For me, I am not so worried about how things look compared to how well the grips feel when I am using them. Timm

I have the edge cut grips. Purely an aesthetic consideration as they match my bike. I will say this - when it's cold out, it feels like I'm holding on to 2 icesicles even with gloves. On our trip last week I had to wrap them with bicycle handle bar tape just to keep from freezing my hands off.

I went with Harley's Get-a-Grip magnums.

I have the Arlen Ness Deep cut soft-touch, they are a little bigger in diameter then most and they really suck up the vibration. I found on longer trips I don't need to do the hand numb shake as much. Very comfortable.

A lot of folks like the kuryakyn grips. I'm not that fond of them myself. They are good grips though.
I like any of the thick HD grips. larger diameter.

I have HDs Chrome and Rubber large grips. Had them on my 2011 also. They feel good, and the rubber ridges give me extra grip on them without having to actually grip them tightly. Just enough cushion without having to worry about a blow-out that I've heard happens to the Iso-grips.
