ultra. no brainer. Pseudo water cooling is embarrassing. KISS Keep it simple stupid. Harleys are air cooled. Stop trying to be something you are not. Love my ultra. its clean.

With that mentality we would all be driving 67 beetles. Love my limited and my Chevy pickup
I wasn't sure I would like the wet heads but I don't get anywhere near the heat that I used to on my '09 ultra. Coming from the '09 to the 14 is like night and day, power is better once you figure out the boom box and all it will do it is awesome, the ultra doesn't have the CB alot of guys don't care but I am a road captn for our HOG chapter and use it all the time. My vote is the Limited all the way.
Hello,
We'll after a few hours I rode my new amber whiskey limited home from Orlando in the rain. My first touring and was a bit nervous about the weight but my god this thing is amazing! The ride is so nice but I may need to go back to school just to figure out the infotainment controls. Dealer was great only issue I had was they didn't have a service manual or lighted hand controls in stock. They even loaned me a helmet to ride home.
Thanks to all for the info

so should you water cool a sportster. I think you totaly know were im coming from. your just justifying your purchase and thats fine. Its my argument on ultra vs limited and its something the op should consider. And frankly if not for the EPA you might just see an air cooled VW again. Its called Nostalgia and thats pretty much the reason Harleys exist since the push rod engine is 1930s technology. And make no mistake about it. It is inferior water cooling. why bother with it. A new VW has a true water cooled engine along with your Chevy

The good news: Harley builds the touring bikes both ways. My dealer sells 20 Limited's to 1 Classic. Not saying the Classic is bad, most just prefer the water cooled Limited. Harley designed the twin cooled motor to keep the traditional look and feel of a air cooled motor while applying water cooling to the hottest part of the engine. BMW did the same thing to their air cooled boxer. Harley could build a full water cooled touring bike but wisely does not. Look at VRod sales. Better to build what most of your customers want and stay away from toe to toe competition with other makes.
The primary reason I purchased my Limited was for the twin cooled motor. 14 months later I am happy with my choice. Coming from a 25 year Harley rider. This is the best new Harley I have owned.
