Good dyno tune is well worth it. People spend all the money n pipes , fuel managemnt etc. Going that extra mile and getting tuned by a GOOD. Tuner is getting the most out of the bike and hard earned cash you already put in
...... I guess it falls into the it's not a material thing I can add to my bike, so why spend money on something you can't see.
......... now, if the Tuner would install/stick-on a smallish, chrome doodad that said 'dyno certified' or something similar, then it'd become a 'material thing' too
............. i'd much rather rock a 'dyno-tuned' dip dot thing on a side cover .....then a matching 'collection' set of footboards, mirrors & grips

That's funny stuff and probably true. I should get custom derby covers with my shop logo on them lol
lets not forget that a dyno tune lasts as long as the temperature, humidity and altitude stay the same. I like the fuel pac so that the maps change with changing riding situations.

That comment is actually laughable. How do you figure changing temp, humidity or altitude changes your tune? Do they on a stock bike? Or in your fuel injected car for that matter? That's what sensors are for.

As harleytuner points out, that is just not true! I hope you meant it as a joke.
Any stock new vehicle can be ridden across deserts or the Arctic, from sea level to the tops of mountains. A dyno compensates for the various changes we do when modifying our bikes and so we can do all those same things again.
No, you would still need a tuning device either way. You're dyno tuner can't make any adjustments without a tuner of some type. Some of the tuners are only hooked to your bike while it is being tuned (i.e. TTS, SEPST etc.) They are basically an interface that allows the computer at the shop to communicate with the computer on your bike (ECM). Once they MAP is installed in the bike the tuner can be removed and set aside untill needed again. These devices marry to the VIN on your bike so once they are used they are dedicated to that bike and that bike only. Some of the brands do have the capability to marry to 2 or more bikes for additional cost but I don't want to make this more complicated than it is at this point.
Gotcha....Thanks! which leads me to another question. Friend (rider) indicated....if I needed to go back to stock (warranty) all I would have to do is, remove Stage I.... once I remove PCV, ECM would still remain stock. Is this correct? Thanks in advance. Muddy

If you are running a stage 1 setup and the bike is tuned, you shouldn't have to worry about any warranty work.

Yes you are correct. With a piggyback system once it is removed there is no evidence it was ever on.
There are both, to re-flash your ECM you need an interface such as SEPST, TTS Mastertune, Power Vision. Piggy back type would be the power commanders, micro tuner etc.
