2007 vs 2015
Like a lot of folks, I was checking out the 2015 touring bikes on the Harley website. In comparison to my 07, there is a lot of traditional stuff missing from the 2015. The front bumper is missing, on the front they put "SuperGlide" turn signals rather than the traditional round signals. There are no chrome rails around the bags, and there are no rear turn signals. I guess the signals are in the tour pack, so you can't run without it. I can't tell about the rear bumper from the pictures. What the hell happened to the ElectraGlide?
I've owned a string of E-Glides dating back to the early 70's. Visually, they look virtually the same. I think I probably have one of the last true "Full Dressers". My '80 had all the stuff that I took off, but I put it back on later.
Tells you how much I've been paying attention.

You are right brown. I am not so much of a dinosaur that I can't take mechanical change, or I'd still be getting beat up by a panhead. I enjoy the technology of these newer bikes. I wish they would hold to the basic design with the technology.
Better brakes. Better lights. Better tires. Bigger motor. Better frame (since '09). Vented fairing (and it really works). Something called infotainment (that will confuse the heck out of you). Bigger Tour Pack. Saddlebag latches that stay closed.
Time marches on.

At the same dealership where they sell the bikes, they also have a free catalog that contains all the trinkets that you might want to add back to reflect the styling you desire.
So many were taking off all those decorator items, they began to address their marketplace and provide what the new buyers wanted and modernized their line of bikes. Their most popular model now is the stripped down Street Glide. Some still buy those, and add back the items they wish to make the bike look as they please.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It looks like a cool air scoop and the big thing is IT WORKS.
I'd prefer that they had left it alone too. An Electra Glide is supposed to have the rubber baby buggy bumper out front and big round turn signals that you can see.
It's all the "street" glide's fault..... as usual!
