RC, Like was mentioned, it's a safety issue & you want it down correctly this time. Not just the cable either. Good luck. Please let's know how it works out for you.
LOL, really. Here's a quote from the WD40 website:
WD40 is an "Anti-rust agent and lubricant"
Either way, WD40 is superb at freeing up sticky or tight clutch cables. Not saying there aren't other, or even better products. But certainly,WD40 works well.
Last service my ride was fine going in, lever was 'sticky' pulling in and releasing when picked up so I took it back in, shop foreman sent it to the back and they cleaned all the excess lube and dirt out of the lever assembly then back to normal. Have to keep an eye on how things are getting done at any shop anymore, be a demanding customer or you will get crappier and crappier service.
Thanks for the replys all. The bike is at the shop, Indy not dealer, who has done good work in the past. I'm kinda bummed about this one though. I'll find out more next week.
My understanding is that newer bikes, and yours qualifies, have teflon coated cables and SHOULD NOT be lubricated. Also, aside from a possible mis-adjustment by the tech, the type of oil in the primary could make a difference. I had problems with Syn 3 and as soon as I changed it out all was well.
