OK, so its not in my mind. I went on the LRS site and contacted them directly. Based on their great feedback from this forum, I await their thoughts.

That looks like the protective plastic cover they put on plastics to protect them during shipping. You did remove the plastic covering from the windshield didn't you?

As silly as this sounds, yes. That was the first thing I checked. The windshield comes covered in this very nice plastic film that covers both sides. Obviously its there to protect the part during shipping. I did in fact remove the protective plastic. In fact, after reading this, I went out to the garage again just to see if maybe there was a second coating that I missed. I could not see one. I just hope this doesn't turn into a biotch-fest, because I like the shield and the way it performs. It just seems odd that it has a slight milky haze. Other than being maybe an inch or two narrower than the factory shield, it pretty much looks the same as well.

Is your shiel the elite or regular. The regular shields are hazy. My elite arrived yesterday but I am out of town or I would compare them for you.

Ah...... did NOT know this. Yeah, I ordered the regular shield. It would have been nice to know this as I probably would have spent the extra cash, had I known there was a slight haze. Especially how well the design works.

The 3M tape I used from Autozone was about 1/16 or 1/8" thick and gives a little bit of padding between the two surfaces.
Thanks!!!!

My 2014 Ultra shield is perfectly clear. The new 2014 Ultra Elite I recieved is also clear with no haze. I believe he got a defective one. LRS is a good company with good customer support. I'm sure they will replace the windshield for him if the haze is in the Acrylic.

I assume they will call tomorrow or Monday. Today is thanksgiving Thursday, and no one expects ANY business to deal with issues today. I am happy to wait till Monday to speak with them. Its probably against my own best interest even to say this on a forum they read, but if they say..."that's normal for the standard shield", I'll just rock it the way it is. I'm not unhappy with it, its just an issue that had me thinking.

That may be the case with yours but the two I bought prior were hazy just like his. I gave one to my brother so I should be able to get pics up when I get back. I bought the elite this time for that reason.
