One observation, though - as with any "tip", sometimes ya gotta take it with a grain of salt. Like the recommendation to clean the saddle with alcohol. Yeah - it'll clean it - it'll also dry the leather out. There are cleaners/conditioners out there that won't leave it shiny an' slick, but will still give the leather a good cleaning AND conditioning.
