scammed thread locked/EBAY thought/buyer beware
Can someone post a link to the Zanottis website so I can check it out. Also how about a link for the daler that gives 20% off... I think it is chicago hd? Thanks all.
And 04roadking, I told you to ask for a refund. Any good business person wants his buyers to be happy. I personally wouldn't take it, just the offer is enough to show his intent, in my book.

Here you go PAPPY!
Since the other thread is locked I will respond here.
It was me who advertised and sold this item. I placed the item up for bid, delivered what I said I would deliver as described and in a timely fashion.
Mark, you bought the item by clicking the Buy it Now, no one forced you! My reserve price was $150. Yes, $150. You decided to buy it and then get upset afterwards.
Calling me a crook, overextended credit and every other name is just not right and wrong. I won't resort to the level of name calling.
Also, after you emailed me stating it was no longer a protected item I revised my item description and removed that from the text so it no longer states that.
Banned from the forum? For what? I did not advertise my items here, did not make any posts to get more bids or anything. In fact, you were the one to bring it to the forum and I never once made any connection between my ebay ad or this forum. There's no reason for banning.
Retail price for these items is $175 plus shipping or 175 flat if you walked into your local dealer. You paid $200, by your own accord, no one forced you. Would you like a refund of the difference? I'll paypal you back the money right now, just let me know. To any others calling me a crook, stealer, deadbeat and what have you, I did nothing other than post an ad with a $150 reserve...far less than Mark paid, but that's my fault he got upset after buying an item??
I've been buying and selling on ebay for 9 years, there are deals and there are steals.............but it's the buyer's responsiblity to do the research before buying.
I've sold a lot of items for way more then what I ever thought I would get for them, and some for even more then what they cost at the dealer.......but that's not my fault, it's the buyer's fault for not doing the research to see what things are really worth or what they really sell for. They get in a bidding war and before you know it they are paying more then full retail and then I tack on shipping on top of it.
To the guy who is crying like a baby............too bad. You bought an item, the seller delivered the item......done deal. Take it as a lesson learned and next time do the research before buying not after.

[blockquote]Hello Sales Team,
We had the following part inquiry
Hi John, Is the Street Glide Rear fender trim piece, ("facia) part no. 59739-06DH (vivid black) still a restricted part? Can it be ordered with an authentic VIN from a vivid black FLHX? [/blockquote]
Hi,No it is no longer a VIN restricted part. I checked and that is for the Vivid Black Facia. Thanks,
John

Telephone hours: M-F 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Eastern04RK's deal was in APRIL and Turbo was selling other facia and offering to get other colors. My only point is that Turbo knew (and if he didn't, who was ordering the parts from Zanotti's that he was selling?) the part wasn't restricted when he listed it because he wasn't being asked to provide a VIN number in the course of ordering the facia. Yes, "buyer beware," but it is also true that some ebay seller's lie, misrepresent, and simply make innocent mistakes. If you want to say "shame on 04RK' for trusting the accuracy of a fellow HD Forum member's listing on ebay, go ahead. If I had been the seller with an inaccurate listing (and I have sold about 175 items on ebay), I would have refunded aportion of the money or offered to cancel the auction. For those who don't think turbo did anything wrong, send me a pm if you use ebay and provide me with your ebay user names so I can be sure never to bid on anything you list. Thanks.
Have I been Burned on E-Bay - No...
NO One was twisting your arm when you placed the bid...

This has me scratching my head...
The seller is coming out of this thing smelling like a rose!! You're right nobody forces anyone to buy on e-bay and I guess sellers have no responsibility to tell the truth. What a crock of ****. I would have to think that if I am selling something and advertising as being a VIN restricted item and know that I am buying them straight from a dealer as an UNRESTRICTED part....gee, something doesn't seem quite on the up and up, but like I said, that would be me.
04RK got his parts and paid what he agreed to pay...not the issue. The issue is advertising something as VIN restricted when it is not. Had 04RK done his homework he might have saved some money...still not the issue. I learned about the parts being unrestricted here on the forum, where bikers help each other out. I helped several guys with P/N lists to do the job so they wouldn't buy parts they didn't need like I did....to help...to save them money....guess I should have been selling kits with all the VIN restricted parts that only I can buy from Zanotti's.
The first thread that 04RK posted everyone wanted him to out this e-bay seller/forum member so others wouldn't get the same deal. He does and now is getting bagged on. Why should it come to the board? IMHO, that is a stupid question, so others don't have the same experience.
Not that it means anything but I got your back on this one 04RK,

If turbo was ordering these parts from Zanotti's himself (as opposed to having his wife, girlfriend, etc.) doing it via computer or phone calls, then he KNEW the part wasn't restricted when he listed it and 04RK bought it. I know this because I purchased the facia from Zanotti's a couple of times: both when it was a restricted part (when I bought the one for my '04 EG) and when it wasn't. When it was restricted, Zanotti's emailed me and told me they needed a VIN from a real SG. When I ordered it as a non-restricted part I didn't know it was no longer restricted and entered the part no. for the vivid black version on Zanotti's website and the part number was accepted, to my surprise, and the website gave me a price. I then emailed Zanotti's and asked if the part was still restricted and got a reply back from John that it was no longer restricted. Here is the email dated FEBRUARY 16, 2007:
