Winter is here in the northeast. For guys who like summer weather only its the equivalent of being locked up.
In the garage I go and I comb thru the bike from a season of riding to find all the stuff that needs attention.
1) I need to pull the bat wing and replace one of my vertical batwing supports. I'll probably just replace both. A few new cracks on top of past repairs is why.
Wish my detached garage was heated. I would like to spend the winter just detailing it.
How do you know your vertical supports are broke? I already did my horizontals with HD's improved version
I feel sorry for you guys that can ride year-round. You"ll never feel the thrill of the first few rides in the spring time! Almost as good as your first piece of ***!

Even though I ride year round...I know that feeling well...4 years ago I was laid up for 4 months in bed after a truck totaled my Ultra and almost totaled me.
First ride after being in stuck in bed for all those months was amazing!
Actually, took about a month or so for the euphoria to drop down to the regular "I going for a ride" excitement.
You didn't say they had been done so cam chain tensioners would've been on my list at 40,000 mi.

I was thinking the same thing. I have 42K on my 09 SG. I just bought a J&S jack and the service manual for my bike. I plan on opening up the primary to look inside and inspect the primary chain tensioner, then move to the cam chain tensioners. If you do the cam tensioners, let me know how it worked out for you.
I feel your pain as far as putting the bike away for winter. I'm in Rockland County, NY and it is Effing Cold here now. Damn I envy the guys who can ride year round.
