Other than the brighter light from the LED headlights is there a reduction in the amp draw from the stator versus the standard lights? If so does it reduce the wear and tear on the stator?

Yes the LED headlights and spots draw significantly less amperage than the stock setup. Even on high beam!!!

2010 Limited with some stuff!!

you can calculate this yourself by the spec for watts on the lamp.

100 watts = 8.33 amps at 12 volts.

watts is not a measurement of light- it is an electrical measurement.

( and like same if adding an amp or heated clothing or more lights...just add up the watts and figure out the amps- the current draw on the electrical system)

not all leds are alike for how much light produced ( Lumens)- or the beam pattern.

in general an led will consume less electricity to produce an equal amount of light...we are moving towards these in homes, business, theatrical lighting and vehicles.
the downsides are cost, colour temperature, reliability and beam pattern. most leds shoot light out in a narrow beam and inlike a burning filament, lens and reflectors cannot as easily control the beam.

I, for one, find that motorcycles approaching from behind seem to disappear in my side view mirror as they get close...narrow beam spread.
I also notice similar effect pulling out into traffic, bikes far away are seen, bikes that are closer are not.

According to the Harley Day maker install instructions the Day Maker draws 3.75 amps and the stock lamps are 5-6 Amps.
