Ok, I have been searching for a set of cams. I want to add more performance. There are too many options available. I was looking at the S&S 585 cams. is there any draw backs? Are they worth the money? Can anyone suggest options that they are using and happy with their decision.
Thank you
I would have to agree you will see a list of cams that folks are using. As for me because I live 2 miles down the road from Zippers I lean more towards and have been happy with their cams. Currently using the 575 in my 2011 SG and just picked up the Red Shift 525's, their Red Shift dual piston cam chain tensioners, and Axtell Bypass Value for my 14 Limited.
This is a good article about cams and specifically the benefits for 2014/2015 models with the Rushmore changes....at least it's good reading....while it is specifically HD related (from Salt Lake City Harley).....it's specific to their testing of the new models;
I had the woods 222 cams in my 08 SG and will likely use them in my 15 RG. In my opinion they are hard to beat in a touring bike with a stage 1 setup. You need to consider what your riding style is and where you want the power to be. I would suggest giving Fuel Moto a call and they can suggest a cam based on your needs.

++1 on the woods TW222 my bike now pulls like a beast from 2000 thru 5200 rpm but I also installed the woods directional lifters and SE Premium tapered adjustable pushrods.
If you don't have have mufflers and an air cleaner, then buy a Power Vision, exhaust of your choice, air cleaner and the MR 103 or the HP103 cams from S&S. (either will get you about 90/100 just moving the power band one way or the other) Then down load the appropriate map from the S&S website. No guessing, no dyno, nothing. Install parts, load map. Ride. You can also do the same thing with fuel moto...
