Default Biketronics Load Equalizer Installation

I just ordered the Biketronics plug and play load equalizer (BT801) for my 2010 Ultra Limited in anticipation of installing some front and back LED turning lights (Custom Dynamics, Radiantz, etc). I previously installed the HD auxiliary brake light/running light/turn signal conversion kit (68000123A) in the rear wiring harness coming out of the fender under the seat. I also previously installed the BAL-1 LED rear light.

Question: Should the load equalizer be installed ahead of the HD kit wiring module (toward front of bike) or behind the HD module toward the bike's rear where the wiring harness comes out of the fender. Or does it make any difference?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

The load EQ should go first, closest to the turn signal computer.

Thanks Bill

Am I correct in thinking that I will only need the one load equalizer even though I am converting both the front and rear stock turn signals to LEDs?

Yes you will only need one load equalizer.
Why didn't you just get the kit from custom dynamics that has the load equalizer and the front and rear turnsignals all for one price.
I did that for my bike and it was $199.95 with free shipping.

Probably because the Biketronics are plug and play. You don't have to run a power and ground leads. Cleaner..IMO.

I was already beginning to clutter up the battery terminals with the battery tender cable, etc. so decided the plug and play Biketronic would be a good choice. And...haven't made up my mind totally to go with Custom Dynamics LEDs although it seems a lot of folks here are very happy with them. I have seen Badlands and Radiantz mentioned also but really haven't researched it much.

thats where the 'magic power bloks' come in. 1 connection to the battery, but you can add up to 4 devices to it.

disclaimer: i don't have one, just saw it the other day. i do have 3 items (gps, load equalizer, battery tender) wired directly to the battery so thinking of giving this a try

I did look at the Magic Power Blok but had some reservations. It's just a little plastic block you shove stripped wire into and then clamp the block onto the wire. It's not a sealed unit and seems like vibration and moisture could be a problem--just doesn't look very substantial to me but perhaps others have found it satisfactory.
