Default Are Yaffe products just junk?

Ok, I'll admit that I have had horrible customer service with Yaffe and their products in the past. Took another shot with them and ordered a Stealth 3 license plate mount for my 2013 CVO RG (I don't like any of the other choices). I received it in about a week, so far so good. Well, reading the directions, they state right there in writing that they may have the wiring backwards. Well, it's a good thing they state that, because that is exactly what happened. So, after changing the pins around, I go to mount it. The mounting screws they provide are too short. What gives? It must be good to consider yourself the king. I'm done with them. Hopefully, I'm not the only one.

reports like yours are why i still have the 'popes nose' on my cvo..... not many choices out there, and i do not want to drill the fender.

I just installed the same license plate frame CVO stealth 3 i'm happy with it it was wired correctly I don't remember the instructions stating that it may be wired wrong maybe you got a older shipment of the plate and they have since corrected it I did have to buy longer bolts but that's not a big deal. you do not drilling the fender the only thing you drill out is the existing threaded bolt holes in the bracket to a larger size not that big of a deal.

I tend to side with the OP, if I buy a product to mount on my bike, why should I have to buy longer screws to mount it? That is a big deal. It shows a definite lack of commitment to their customer.

Since my post, I've searched this and several other forums. I am not the only one with the wiring issues. I'm not the only one with the fastener problems (as evidenced by the second reply in this thread).

On face value (this product only), it is not a big deal to re-pin the wiring connector, it is also not a big deal to replace the included screws with longer ones. But it is a big deal. These mods cost real money. Yaffe got more than $150 from me for this and it's not correct. It is especially not correct for something that is advertised as plug and play.

It aggravates me that I started this seemingly easy mod on a Friday evening, with a pending annual ride early on Saturday morning. Now, I miss the ride because I don't have a plate. Can't re-install the old one, because you have to drill out the mounting bungs. In short, pisses me off.

Just put the stealth 3 on my sg last week and the wiring was wrong but the screws were ok. I probably would've went with something different but there wasn't anything out there I liked.

I'll usually give someone a second chance, but not these clowns. I bought one of their amplifier mounts over the summer - how can they screw up something like that??? It looked like an 8th grader made it in shop class (and got an F on the project), sent the wrong hardware, didn't want to send the right hardware, shipped it late and then charged me for expedited shipping. Call them to get it resolved and absolutely no help at all. Crap product and crap service, will never get another penny from me.

You're right to expect a part to have all the right hardware in the box. If it's advertised as PNP, then it should be as well. Seems alot of people are having issues with Yaffee.

Leopard never changes his spots.

These guys have had a bad rep for a while between horrible customer customer service, missing parts, wrong parts, extremely poor shipping times, and the clown and his cronies/employees have ****-poor attitudes to boot. Don't even know why you guys bother...

Yep! I would never give them a dollar of my money. High prices for outsourced, Chinese junk, bad customer service and a self important clown for an owner...
