The premium latches and hinges should fit straight on, after removing the original ones. My 1980s hinges and latches are fine after thirty years! What are you so worried about?! I have a set of Premium parts for it, simply to dress it up a bit. You can see the instructions for them on the H-D on-line shop.
Well, i ordered a color matched tour pak, I just need to know if it comes with latches for one.
As for the hinges that come stock on the color matched tour pak, I think they look like a horrible afterthought. The premium hinges look so much better.
I just replaced the screen door hinges on my detachable Tour pack and took about an hour. For such crappy looking hinges the rivets are quite stout so make sure you have a good drill bit.
Yes the TP comes with latches and replacing the ugly ones is a pretty easy job. I replaced mine soon after getting my tp. I did mine by myself but having an extra set of hands wouldn't hurt. My wife bought me the premium latch kit for Christmas so I will be installing those this weekend.
I confirm with others the TP comes with the latches and hinges. I went with the newer style chopped TP for my RK. The hinges and latch seem to be better than the pre-2014 TP IMO.
...... yes, the TP will come w/hinges & latches, both of which are upgradable (HD marketing genius)
.... now, let me pose a more important question
...... yer putting a tour pak on your Custom,
.... worrying about how the hinges will look before you even get it
.... ..and ya haven't painted your inner yet ?
........... that, is what i don't get

When you put the premium hinges on make sure you have a sharp bit and tape every thing up well. Also take care of the metal shavings so you do not scratch your new tour pack. It is easy, but great care should be taken, there are many opportunities to scratch something.
