Default TW222's

Looking on fuel moto web page on cams and looking at the tw222 and one dyno sheet shows a pre 14 with these cams and a stage 1 and it picked it up 20hp and 20 foot pounds of TQ and went to the Rushmore project blog and seen a 2015 road glide with different air filters and exhaust making with in 6hp and 4 foot pounds of TQ with stock cams of the full stage 1 TW222 pre 14. Looks like the 14/15 cams make good power. How many people want to spend $390 for cams and another $150 push rods and to some people having to pay labor to do the job to pick up 6hp/4tq. Looks like the way to go is buy a set of take out 14/15 cams for less than $80 on ebay and with a good air filter and exhaust and a good tune and make 89hp and 108Tq on a pre-14 vs the $540 222s and push rods and make 96hp and 112tq. I am glad I found them dyno charts and seen this but wish I seen it before I bought the 222s and push rods to put in my bike because I already put the 14/15 cams in mine. Oh and done a little checking and the 2014-15 cams lift is .309 X R/A ratio of 1.65=.50985 lift close enough to .510 lift.

That is what I did last summer. One of the techs had a take off set someone had him remove to put in new 255's. Guess he didn't know they are very close to the same. It runs great and valve train is quiet.

No doubt it's a very good upgrade for the the money...... With that said its hard for me to spend time or money on something like that knowing I'm leaving power on the table. I guess it just comes down to what you want to spend and the results your after. There is more to cam choice than your final numbers also, torque curve, fuel milage, engine temps, ect. You won't regret your 222 purchase im sure.

The new 14/15 HO cams come in the touring bikes, they also have a bump in compression which helps the power output, be careful which cams you are looking at if you choose to go with the Harley cams. the new HO 103 cams are similar to the 255's with less lift, but do work very well with the correct intake, exhaust and tune. Good Luck

On a non water cooled touring the cyl, pistons, heads, head gasket every thing is the same part number as the 2012S/G so the comp, ratio should be the same as the pre-14. The power was made with the cams and better A/C and cams. On the water cooled the heads are different and the head gasket is different giving it a little more compression and make a little more power than the non water cooled SG or R/G or R/K. Like I said in my post a 2015 R/G is not water cooled and with a better a/c head pipe and mufflers and stock cams is with in 6hp and 4 pounds of TQ than the exact same set up in a pre-14 with TW222's. All I was saying is it worth the extra money for the little power difference. I will find out because I done bought the 222's and will try them and see what I think. Got the 14/15 cams in my bike now with a good tune runs really well and make zero noise at any temp,RPM. And I know it is not just the cams making it quite is is the good straight crank with .0008 that is less than a thousands thanks to darkhorse crank works lifters, oil pump, cam plate, and chain tensioners I am running but the .510 lift helps. More lift = M/P M/spring pressure which makes it harder for the tensioners to maintain good control of the cam chains. Spent some money to get her this quite but it is scary quite now and I know it want be as quite with the 222's and don't want to listen to the noise for the not so much power advantage I will gain with them but like I said I will put them in and see how it goes. To much noise and they will be on the forums or ebay really fast and cheap.

I think the 14 cams are fine, I had the 2014 Limited with those cams and twin cooling, small mods like slipons, a/c and nightrider 02 modifiers and it ran excellent. May leave the 255's in the CVO Limited with some external mod's only as it runs excellent also.

A Woods 222 cam is an excellent choice of cams. I would of installed the Woods directional lifters with it.
The 222 cams with HF air kit and exhaust gives you more than a little extra power.

If you had of bought the cams from Fuelmoto, And got a PV tuner. He would of gave you a map for free.
We have installed the 222 woors cams in 3 bikes with the PV.
One of the bikes was a 2010 SE Sg with a 110cu that we took out the SE255 cams.
What a difference the 222 cams made , with the PV and the map that we got from Jamie.
We used the SE TAPERED quick install push rods.
Excellent power, really woke the bike up. But we have a High flow air breather ,and it had some stainless header pipes from Fuel moto and some jackpot exhaust on it.

I got a kit from fuelmoto. Did a 107 with the level B heads and Woods 555 cams.
All I can say is the bike screams.

If you had of wanted a custom map , I would of gone to Tman at Tman performance in N.C.
Thunder-Heart performance is also in White House Tennessee.

I can see where the 222's will makes good improvement in a pre-14's bikes like the bikes you mentioned. I do have a PV on my bike and I do have the 18404-08 tapered push rods. I have the 14 HO cams in my bike and the 222s will not help it as much as it does a 2013 and back that is what I was saying and don't think I will be happy for the $$$ I spent vs power gain but they are going in and I will see. If it is close and I hope it is a lot better power but I dought it will be and they are quite as what I have now they will stay in and if not to ebay or in the form classifieds they will go. It don't matter what lifters I have either I know they are as good as anybody's harley cool aid lifter on the planet more than likely are better and the company has the back bone to tell you who makes them for them something the harley cool aid lifter people want tell you. I hate cool aid and want drink it.

Pick the phone up after the Holidays and call Fuelmoto. Jamie sells the Woods cams. And is using them on all the new bikes.
He can tell you what they will do for your bike.

The 222 cam is for a STOCK bike , With a HF air kit and free flowing exhaust.

The Woods Directional lifters are what Jamie uses. And Bob Woods. They quieten the moto down from the agressive ramps on the woods cams.
And you don't worry as much about the lifters going bad.

They are all that Wolfgang Grassersuses also.

On the Wolfgang thing I don't push my bike from the trailer to the dyno and back to the trailer to hall home and redo to go right back to the dyno to post up a 187hp run on the dyno and they are more than a set of cams and lifter in that motor to.
