I have asked a few indies about doing a 95 big bore on my 05 ultra. Had one say that I need to weld and true my crank up and the other say as lond as i dont hot rod it I will be fine. What do yall say. Plus I already have a set of Andrews 21 gear drive cams installed.
I have had the 95" kit in my Deuce for yrs will no issues with my crank. I think the best bang for your buck is in the cams, and heads. send your heads out and have them ported, polished and milled to raise your compression. My 95" is putting out more hp than the new HD 110" A mild build with the right pipe, breather, cams, and heads should put you in 90 hp range.
I had those cams in my RK with true duals RH's. The bike ran great! Went to 95" and really noticed no significant difference, disappointed actually. Got some 06 heads street ported, bigger cams and all's well. If I had to do it again, I would opt for the 97" or 98" kits.
As for getting the crank trued & welded; If there's no significant run out I wouldn't waste a thought in that direction. When you had those gear driven cams installed there should have been less than .003, far from significant.
Some opinion & a bit of experience. Semper Fi!

Well... according to the video I watched made by S&S, welding the crank did nothing to increase the strength. They twisted cranks with a 20 ft breaker bar and torque wrench, first a stock crank and then 3 welded cranks, all slipped at the same torque!!!
My 2005 has a 95" bb and runs great, I'd never expect a mild mod like that to cause any problems, just keep the compression reasonable with those mild cams.

S&S wants to sell cranks.
If the job isn't done correctly a welded crank will twist also.
Also you said they used a 20 foot breaker bar AND a torque wrench? That couldn't be right, you sure don't need one of you have the other.

I have no doubt that S&S makes good stuff.
That said, I also noticed there was no welded crank being tested. And for MY money a properly welded stock crank in a motor making 4% of the torque shown (stock crank) on that video will do just fine for me.
I'm not ever going to build a monster stroked/bored H-D Tourer. You can buy a big bore crate S&S and simply bolt it right in for less.
Now if I was building a drag bike........
