$425.00 down and around this area (but they throw in a free Dlr Tee-Shirt (lol)).. And they do a little more then just change the oils... And I think the most important one for a dealer to do IF they do what they need to do...
I justdida 1,000 mile fluid change yesterday. Very easy and only took 1/2 hour, mostly just waiting for the oil to drainand finding the right tools. Used Harley Synthetic and Red Line for the tranny. About $70.
They are SUPPOSED to do more than change the fluids. They are to check many things. If they do all the things on the 1000 mile checklist in the shop manual, it will take more time and parts than just an oil change.
You need to have more than just an oil change at 1000 miles.
Make sure to get the complete list of service items performed regardless who does it or if you do it yourself. It is not that hard. I am doing my 20K service right now, just stopped for lunch. Get the factory service manual and save some bucks. If you do it yourself, save your receipts for the parts you used. Use a check list of items serviced and date it.
Just looking atthe invoice for 1000 mi service on my 2007 Ultra right now. $77.54 oil, filter, and gaskets. 2.9 hours labor $275.50. Didn't charge me tax; don't know why. Total $353.04.
I got a complimentary 1st ser. when I bought my bike in Dec. I just paid the difference for the synthetic oil which was about $25. This 1st ser was said to be valued at $250.
I had mine done by an independent shop. I provided the fluids except for the Foumula+for the primary. They did everything that the 1000 mile service calls for and charged me $125.00.
