How long
I keep my rides, just how it is, I'll fix'em and maintain them and make them mine. That being said, some bikes are freakin' possessed and should be dumped. It's your call, but I would go to the dealer you like the best, trade that thing in for a new glide and leave the motor stock, put a set of slipons, an airfilter and a tune on it and ride it till the wheels fall off.
I'd trade in for a new one if all the stars align for you. At least you know the history of the new bike and I think the improvements are worth the trade. Good advice on keeping it stock or close to it.
The only other thing I'd add if you're sticking on one dealer for services is to have a specific tech work on your bike. I do that with my dealer. I have a good rapport with my tech and he treats my bike good... or at least I think he does.

I'm the same way, still have my '49 Panhead that I bought in '75, as well as a '79 Dodge 4X4 that I bought in '81. It sounds like all of your issues are motor related. With your '09, you've got the best frame update, so I'd be prone to keeping the bike and giving one more engine a chance. Either the S&S 124, but I'd go with their new 143". My 06 88" motor with S&S 106 components runs flawlessly.
First of all, thanks to all you that responded with so many solid suggestions. Most of them, I had on my list of possibilities. Trade it off, crate motor or re- man option. Still has a couple of years ESP, as long as it can get by the inspector.
A shiny new one is tempting. Bottom line is the cash however. Will be discussing all this with the shop manager and see what he might have in mind as well, and probalby keep it as is at least til spring before any trigger gets pulled. What ever it is, if it involves a new engine, no more yanking it around beyond the slipons, AC and tuner.
Thanks again to all....
