I called one of my riding buddies bike a scooter (metric)---he seemed to get pissed at me and now wants to race to which I declined.
here is his statement
" Scooter huh......well we may need to find an open road one day and have everyone line up for a "ready-set-go". I'm sure we'll see who's riding the scooter. "
I apologized and explained that many of us use the term scooterto refer to our motorcycles to include myself.
I looked to find the original post of this subject to send to him but can't find it---can someone help me with finding the post?
Tell him to just call you back when he grows up. Sheesh - it's like a guy years back that got all offended with an older guy that called him "son". This guy was my age - about 18 - and the older man was in his 50's at least. I always considered it a sign of respect that an adult would try to help me with something - and the words he might use with me had to be taken in context rather than dissecting each one for possible offense.
He (she) who takes offense when no offense was intended, is a fool... He (she) who takes offense when offense was intended, is an even bigger fool.....
It sounds like a tweezer emergency... might be a stray hair stuck in the heinie hole... Or duder was just having a bad day... Seems like everybody up my way has a short fuse... Too much ice-fishing this Spring!
That's just stupid.'Scooter' is suchcommon term amongst motorcycle enthusiasts. Has been forever. This one guy is hypersensitive and also considers how fast a 'scooter' goes will define it. Pffffttt! What an idiot!
He (she) who takes offense when no offense was intended, is a fool... He (she) who takes offense when offense was intended, is an even bigger fool.....
Hogback
Great quote!
Now, think I will go ride my scooter before the rain starts.
