Default oxygen sensors????

Hey guys,
I'm making the switch from a pc3 to an RCXcelerator auto tune system. I have long since thrown out my old O2 sensors. I'm now in the market to buy new ones but there are so many choices. I can get a used set of stock ones for $29 or spend more money for an aftermarket pair. Is there any difference? Do they wear out? What brands are reputable? Thanks for the advice fellas.

Not that you wont get some good advice here but i'd also contact RC COMPONANTS by going to their website to get the phone # to their tech person on Monday am to ask them what 02's work best with HD's motor,HD's pipes,HD's ECU & proper wiring connectors for 02's themselves in combo with their Xcelerator fuel management system.

I rec that so you can use the advice you get here along with the advice from the tech guy at rc components so you get it right the 1st time with no problems.

BTW, am also looking at buying Rc Componants L240A Xcelerator or Nighrider Xeid's for my 09 FLHTCU with TC-96ci that i am installing MGS slipons and a SE stage-1 AC on.

The plus on the Xcelerator fuel mfg system is that from what they say it can support just about any mods like big bore kit with better breathing heads & hot cams, etc which Xieds arent really designed to support or at best not as well as the Xecelerator system that costs $450ish vs $185ish for Nightriders most expensive most adj Xied setup.

I got my RCXcelerator for $150 off eBay brand new in the package. I bought the one the dealer used as an example. Open box special if you will. His normal price is $249. I'll call the factory tomorrow and check what they say. Thanks for the heads up.

You must have an older bike and or their older xcelerator system because the newest one thats out for 08 + up toruing bikes lists for considerably more $$$$ then your system does.

Their newest L240A xcelerator fuel management system relased 6/14 only hooks between ecu and bikes wiring harness with no connections going out to 02's,grounds ?, & maybe throttle body too like your less expensive xcelerator fuel management system does.

Heres a link to it so you can chk it out.

o2 sensors can wear or become damaged.

I wouldn;t buy used sensors.

the last one I bought was a bosch for one of my cars

The designer of your fuel management system is the one to call to ask about compatible O2 sensores. The stock sensors are narrow band sensors and have a 12mm thread body diameter.

My system uses Bosch wide-band sensors with an 18mm thread body diameter.

Most of the used O2 sensors are probably OK since the guys usually take them off the bike when they are relatively new. For best closed loop performance, I would recommend the Bosch wide-band units. But it all depends upon what your designer tells you.

I have a 2007 RKCustom. Package says it retails for $395 but he sells them on eBay for $249. I got an open box special. I'll call the rep in the morning and see what they say. Box says it works with stock 02 sensors but I'm afraid of buying used broken stuff. I've been burned before.
