Battery Tender here also. I've had it so long , I can't really remember how much it cost. But I do remember it wasn't much. Never had an issue with it. Take Care! JR
I ordered a Battery Tender Jr. this morning. Should have it by Thursday. Looks like it will plug right in to the pigtail under the side cover. Thanks for all the input.

Battery tenders are a good thing. They are meant for maintaining a battery when it is not in use for prolonged periods. You should not be having a problem if your riding the bike most every weekend. If you are, I would check for a draw (discharge) and address the problem instead of covering it up. JMO
The rides I have been managing to get in lately have only been about 30-45 minutes at a time. Usually only once on the weekends and sometimes every other weekend lately. I don't think anything is really drawing it down. It hasn't died completely, just hesitates for a second before turning over when trying to crank for the last couple of rides. I think its just the cold and lack of use. I'm going to check the connections and if it persists after putting on the tender, than of course, I'll address it further. Not trying to cover anything here.
a lot of guys are rerouting that pigtail so they wont have to take the saddle bag off to open the cover to pull out the plug to charge the bike. Then put it back neatly in the space and put on the cover and put the saddle bag back on. phew! Got tired just talking about it.

Yeah, I'll have to take a look at that. Currently, I have a 12V adapter plugged into the pigtail that goes into my saddlebag to charge my phone. All of that extra wire is still behind the side cover. I may have to rearrange that up near the seat for convenience. A project for this weekend when I put my new amp and speakers in. Thanks.

My '11 EGC started doing that too. It would hesitate..... then crank over. The battery was going bad. I replaced it with one I got through Amazon. Same manufacturer as the Harley OEM but less expensive. EastPenn Manufacturing makes Harley's batteries. Deka too. I think mine was branded ThrottleX.
