OK so I just changed my stator and rotor. I did notice the old rotor had spots drilled in it like it had been balanced or something. The new rotor had one notch drilled in it.
When I got everything put back together I started the bike up and noticed a loud ticking sound which I believe is coming from the front cylinder. Could something be out of balance? It is a loud slapping sound
Harley engine ticking noises come and go all the time. My evo had a noticeably louder ticking noise start around 2k miles and disappear around 3k. Probably nothing to worry about.
How many miles are on the bike? They dont finish breaking in for a long time at the rate most riders put on miles.
The bike has 45k on it.
All is well I took everything off and torqued it back down and the knock stopped. I was in a panic but now I'll be riding Sunday.
