Looking at installing the Evo 2. I've looked around online and can't find anything regarding the installation. Aside from the wiring harness adapter, do I need to change the brackets, or can I use the existing hardware from the factory headlight?
They make HD's Daymaker for those that didn't already know that. For those that installed the Daymaker, did you reuse the hardware, or did you have to use what they give you? The reason I ask is there is almost a $200 difference in price.
The trim ring you got with it is the mounting/ adjustment ring correct? The biggest reason I ask is that the Evolution 2 is their updated model, and HD doesn't offer it yet.
Got one (Evo 2) being delivered to me today with the JW Speaker trim ring and ordered the HD wiring harness before hand. I will update everyone on it when I complete the install. Hope to do it tomorrow.
On the Jeep forums they are saying there is a delay on switching from high to low on these. Some say about .5 seconds, some say 2 seconds. Again, I will let you all know.
Took almost a month to get it from Discount Fleet Supply, they were on back order from JW. The Jeepers are snatching them up quick.
Install done. Pics to follow, however there is 3 feet of snow on the ground here, with another foot on the way, so it's inside the garage. Height adjustment appears the same as the stocker, and I will tweak when needed when the snow melts.

Looks like the Evo 2 has allot more fill light than the previous model. Did it come with a new adjustment ring or does it use the stock ring? Any delay switching from high to low beam? Interested in your feedback once you have some saddle time.
Sorry haven't checked back. The LED I have is the HD Daymaker. Did not need mounting/adjustment ring direct install to factory ring. Black trim was included because I got black light could have used stock. I did purchase HD harness $15 with discount. Took 15min to install including my visor trim ring. Only rode once at night ,Ohio, snow. Major improvement over stock. Mine is earlier version ordered before I knew about gen 2. Only complaint the low and high are not on at same time, however the low beam is much better than factory high. Switch from low to high is instant.
