I am having trouble with my 2014 Street Glide special navigation screen. This is the second time the screen has gone blank. First time it happened last month. I took it into the dealer to check it out and they said it needed an update. So they ran the update I picked up the bike went home. I have not used the bike since then. Went out to start it today to go for a ride. Screen is blank again nothing. I was wondering has any one else had this problem or something like it. I am wondering since I am now out of warranty by two weeks what is going to be the dealerships response towards this problem.
There is a new update on the HD website. 1.18.3 I would give that a try before you do anything.
However if that doesn't fix your problem, I would think since you took it in for that problem before the warranty expired and you have it on record, you should be OK.
I will check out the update on line. But since my screen is blank how would I know what update I have? I wonder how new this update is? I just had an update last month before X mas.

I'm no software engineer, but I doubt an update is/was your problem. Mine works great and I'm still running the original software. If yours still does not work after they tried to fix it under warranty, my belief is that it should still be covered. But it probably would require a new Infotainment unit I'm thinking because short of an update, I doubt they are serviceable.

How are you out of warranty by 2 weeks? 2 years unlimited miles right?

Hmm ok I will check on that. I don't remember what the warranty period is. If its 2 years unlimited mileage I am good to go for another year.
Thanks for that info

That's what I was thinking...it's a 2 year warranty. You can also purchase the ESP during the warranty period as a "new" bike vs. paying the used bike price.
OP, you may want to check on the Rushmore board too. Good luck.
You guys are right I went to the HD website 2 yrs unlimited miles. I will bring it in tomorrow. Thanks for all the info. I will most likely pick up the extended warranty.
Just wondering what they go for extended warranties? I will probably start another post or use the search.
