Default Progressive Shocks Heavy or Standard Spring?

I have the 440's 12.5 inch and have them adjusted full open and it's just not enough for me with my passenger with a tourpack. They are Standard Duty. Funny thing is I had the 12" SD on my old RoadKing and they were perfect. Improved ride quality tremendously. Now I'm gonna get the 444's or 944's and I don't wanna make the mistake in getting them with the wrong spring rate. What do I do? I'm 165lbs. My wife's 150 and she now has her own bike but will still be on mine. I know what progressive says but it don't add up. Under 225lbs seldom ride two up standard
Over 225 and ride 2 up allot Heavy Duty. Well there's a big gray area there

I have Progressive 412's in stock height on my Electra Glide. I ride one up at 250lbs with standard springs. I'm very glad I purchased the standard springs. Anything more and I think my bike would ride like a board.

Man, that's the truth. "Over 180 pounds OR two-up", makes no sense at all. A solo rider weighing 181 pounds is NOT the same as two adults of any size.

The only thing that I've noticed is that there are far more Progressive owners complaining of heavy duty models riding like a buckboard than there are owners complaining of standard models riding too soft.

I'm 190 and I ride solo, and if I get a Progressive it will definitely be standard.

Have the 944's with the HD springs. They are on a 2010 Ultra Classic CVO. Me 210, my wife 155(she says 145) that's a different story! That year CVO came with the big tour pac. In order to get the sag close to the 1 inch they recommend, I have the preload tightened as much as I can when I ride two up. The 944's are 1 inch shorter than stock. I loose 1 inch of shock travel, I will bottom out if I hit a very big bump or pot hole. Progressive said to check the spring to make sure its the HD one, and according to the color(gray) and the 115/155 printed on them they are the HD springs. If we were not running the king tour pack, which I figure is about 60 lbs with the back rest, we may be ok and never bottom out, but the tour pack is fixed and we use it. I figure we have about 10-12 lbs of jackets ect. in the bags and the tour pack, so I am sure that factors into it also. I am one who would like a stiffer spring so I wouldn't max out the preload settings to get the sag right. They ride is great two up, no complaints except the once in a while bottom out. When I ride by myself I don't readjust the preload, I just leave it as it is. The ride is a little stiffer, but not too objectionable.
Thought about going to the 3-3 Ohlins instead, but went the Progressive route. Now starting to doubt my decision.
