I've been here. . .what worked for me was finding the CVO Roadglide and then realizing it could be done but in three years. I took my downpayment and upgraded the 06 RK. She's a seriously crispy Marshmallow now
I enjoy riding them all! I love my Road King. I never road a fairing bike but I dig the styling of the Road Glide. I also want to turbo a Dyna. Then there is the whole other world of older Harley Davidsons that I would also like to have and ride. 1 big problem. Money
Went on a canyon run (PA Grand Canyon) with some freinds in memory of a freind who loved that run. We stop at a couple of HD Shops. First place I looked at bikes but never though of buying second place just for the hell of it I asked what would they give me for trade in. 89 Ultra to my surprise offer was $2000 higher then what I had into. So hell I went back to first placed and asked they offer $200 more I traded up to a FLHTP 2012 with 3500 miles on it. I love it. I had only own the 89 for about a year. I still have my 76 FLH which I have had to long 30 plus years to long to part with.
Waiting for the new RGU and I will likely trade my 2013 RGU. Took the RG special for a ride liked what they did to it. I just prefer the RG Ultra for my needs.
Same think happened to me. Now I have a 15 Limited. I kept the 06 RKC with 70K. Going to make it a solo with some 16" apes. You will buy that RG Special.
Maybe in a few years. Income isn't enough for me to pick up another payment. I need to pay off the 04 RKC first and then go from there. I still want to upgrade the camchest and put some new cams in her.
