The BAL-4 is supposedly for LEOs only. They're so bright you'll probably get pulled over. The BAL-1 is all you could ever want. I'll be able to see you from my house.

I have the Bal 1. Last summer I was with a group riders when some guy that was following in a car walked up and ask "who has the super bright flashing tail light?" I said, that would be me, thanks noticing. This light might be the most valuable accessory I own.

Hopefully the BAL would light up the interior with a bright RED light!

Another vote for the Bal1, have mine set at medium bright, flashes twice then steady on.
Just installed it the other day so haven't had it on the road yet, but it can only help.

So, compared to the OEM, and to each other, what is the difference in brightness?

Thanks
I have the BAL2R (which has 12 LED's) on my Ultra and it does the job and then some. I have it on 'medium' setting and it is plenty bright.

If money is an issue, 2 of the BAL1's would be sufficient, and a huge difference from stock.

I woul go in a different direction. I think lighting the tour pack is the way to go. Higher mounting makes it easier to see at a distance . Lotsa of options. I would recommend a center mounted light, either surface mounted to the pack or mounted to rack,if ya have one. The light is made my www.soundoffsignal.com Ghost multi-mount brake/tail. 6 led's with a slight convex for a wide viewing angle and a built in 5 pulse flasher.About$ 100.
