I went with a Reckless fairing. It came with Polk speakers and an Infinity stereo. Antenna is inside the fairing. The setup works great for me. Total was $750 US.
I wanted the same thing. After looking at ALOT of fairings and deciding on a Wide Open fairing. I changed my mind about spending that kind of cash on a stereo and traded the RK for a 15 SGS Problem solved!!!
I used the fairing from craigslist for 50 bucks, just a shell like we had in the good old days when the only music needed or wanted was the sweet singing of old Harley pulling down the road at a hefty 60mph.
I love it whatever brand it is. Cheap and serviceable I shall name it !!
I have been very pleased with the construction, appearance and durability of my Woody's fairing. Many on this forum have said that once you install a good bat wing you will leave it on the bike. As far as I can see, with three other friends that have also added fairings, that unlike the windshield ... it is true. Mine is almost never taken off.
Reckless has the best with stereo, but I have the memphis shades as I already had the Harley Boom system. I also like the memphis quick release so I can go without if I want.
I just added a Reckless Fairing to my RK. I made an offer on one of their Ebay sales back around Christmas for a basic fairing with no stereo or speakers and my bid was accepted. I already had a stereo. speakers, mount, and cover, and "UNFORTUNATELY" I purchased a "powered/amplified" hidden antenna and it TOTALLY SUCKS. The reception - well, there isn't any!!! I mostly use Pandora via Bluetooth from my phone or a thumb drive anyway so I'm not going to make any changes right now with the antenna. With the fairing, paint, antenna, wiring, connectors, etc. I have $650.00 into my fairing. I just added an LRS 8" recurve W/S (signature pic is prior to this addition) they now make for Reckless Fairings and I am very happy with the results!!! Found Reckless very customer friendly and good to work with.
I've seen some on ebay with the cut outs for $300 shipped but I have to change out the nacelle on my custom. My biggest issue now is getting the glacier white pearl paint. I've been quoted $300-800 so far to paint it. The reckless is around $1100 painted on there site and didn't want to sink that much into it.
I have the Hoppe 5566, everything you need and plug and play. If you watch JP cycles scratch and dent you can find a great deal. Mine the inside of the quick detach brackets were scratched. The price was 1000.00 (600. to 800. off going price) but is top notch.

Brilliant!!
That's my next move, most likely..... but I do love this Road King!
