Thinking about purchasing used Rinehart Slip-ons from the classified ad below for $300. Guy said tips turned blue on the pipes and he called Rinehart and they sent him some new ones. Any questions I should ask or should I buy them. Said they had approx 2k on them.
Ad Reads as follows: Rinehart Slip - On Mufflers. High luster chrome finish with Rinehart insignia engraved over black anodized aluminum end caps. Fits 1995-2007 Harley FL touring models. Easy installation. Works with stock headers and heat shields. Mounting hardware included. BUB Part Number is R5-1027BB and Drag Specialties Part Number is 1801-0100. Purchased new in 11/2006. Like New Condition.
The anodizing on the end caps starts out black when new, and turns a dark purple-blue with time. Heat, UV rays, whatever does it. They all do it. If it is an issue, don't buy 'em. There are better sounding slip-on mufflers out there than those IMHO for the money.
