The end plate is stainless steel which may get a bit of a gold hue, we generally recommend on duals if one end plate has more color than the other to simply swap the end plates and it will even them out. We are also experimenting with black ceramic coating on the end plate as well. Replacement end plates are about $15.00.
As far as the muffler itself it is very robust as far as discoloration and is greatly improved from the original WB E-Series design in several areas. We developed a pretty unique full length three stage stainless steel core. The baffle also runs all the way to the inlet to prevent discoloration on the muffler body, just like our Pro Touring mufflers.

I hadn't thought of it before but I guess we could paint the end plate high-temp black. See Photoshopped pic below. Comments? (P.S., I wish painting was as easy as photo editing.)

I see no discoloration on the muffler itself, just the end cap and disks.
Break-Break: I'll be in N.O. at the end of March on my bike. Good places to ride?
If you're willing to ride a spell to get to them, there are some good routes in the area. For starters, there are quite a few in the Baton Rouge-St. Francisville area (my stomping grounds) and the Creole Nature Trail near Lake Charles. There are also some good ones east of Baton Rouge in the Florida Parishes, some going into MS.

Thanks man. I'll look those up! If I'm in your area I'll hit you up and see if you got a few minutes for a lunch or whatever.
Pipes look great by the way. Like the recessed ends...
i dont think the hammering thing is exclusive to your cams and headpipe i get it with stock cams and a super trap 2-1. only when hot fully loaded and uphill under a very heavy load.

Great to hear you're doing well and still riding your 07. Wow! Two 'vetts! That's a lot of Harleys!
My 07 is still kicking and at 62K miles I decided to take it out to Jaime to have him sprinkle magic dust on it.

Exactly, the muffler itself is very well insulated against discoloration and has a very robust chrome finish, we want them to look shiny & bright for many years
