That's what I thought when I first discovered this forum a year or so ago. I was determined to just buy a new HD touring bike and pretty much keep it stock.
HA! HAHAHA! Bwwwahaaaahahahaaa! Yeah RIGHT!
I bought my shiny new EG Classic in March (that's LAST MONTH, for those keeping score at home) and I already FORGET some of the stuff I've added on!!
Here's a pretty good list of what I can remember:
EZ Brake
EZ Shift
EZ Shift Billet Linkage
Chrome Grips
Chrome Footboards (rider and passenger)
Chrome Passenger Footboard Brackets
Chrome Pegs and Brake Pad
Chrome Push-Button fuel door latch
Headbolt Covers
Tourpak Luggage Rack
Saddle Bag Guard Bags (both sides, right one w/water bottle)
Soft Lowers
PCIII w/FuelMoto map
K&N
Rush 1.75" Slip-Ons
That's all in the first 45 days!!
Somehow I've become ONE OF YOU!! And oooohhh, does it feel goooood!!!
I know the pain. Here I don't feel that bad 'cause there are people worse than me. Nobody told me that the bike is just a down payment for the accesories.
I hate to tell you but this is why the dealerships invented open houses and the 15% discount. I've got an 05 Electra Glide Classic and to date have rung up about $3500 in acessories and that's on top of the $1500 worth I had the dealer install when I first purchased the bike. So I feel your pain...
I've bought 1 bike and ended up with 2............the one I ride in the HAWG pen and the one that is in my living room from all the "take off" parts. Makes for some nice furniture though.
Your post could have been written by me but with different accessories.
I've only been a Harley owner (my first Harley) sense January. I keep telling myself
that I was just going to be glad I finally could spent the 21K for a Harley and I can't
or shouldn't do all the other . What a dumbyam I.
For the record the add-on have made my bike worth the money ( if that makes sense )
