I had really good luck with last years air, so much in fact, I removed the air from my tires and pumped through a high carbon filter and packed in rinsed out Jack Daniels bottles and stored them in a dark heated room in my shop. I plan on refilling the tires and having as much fun or more with that same air.
Ya gotta be careful about using the same air for more than one or two seasons. The constant rotating of the wheel causes turbulence within the tire and the 02 atoms will get all their corners rounded off from the abrasion. Once the atoms are completely rounded off they can't be stacked on each other. The stacking of the atoms is what makes them put pressure against the inside of the tire. In other words, the air gets worn out. That's why tires lose small amounts of pressure over time, and why you need to periodically add new atoms that will stack up and not just randomly roll around in the tire.
