I don't seem to have a problem with mine. I've only had a problem once that i can recall. i ended up waiting for another car.

 

Many red lights should be treated as 4 way stops.
I run em' if no one is around and I have been stopped for a bit and no one is coming for a block or so to the right or left of me.
I just fear a ticket but do it anyway.
