On a very small scale, improved handling and a little firmer ride.

Or, you just might not notice a difference.

My 2011 FLTRX came with them too , I chromed them and later sold them to a friend who has a 2012 FLTRU Road Glide Ultra , he said other than looking better he noticed no difference , here's a picture of them on his Ultra with his tour pak off

Overall diameter is the same, lower profile tire. Wider rim than the 16" so the tire seems a bit flatter from side to side. I notice a tiny bit more road feedback with the 18" (130/70-18 tire) than with the 16" (MT90-16 tire about same as 130/90-16 tire)

I did it on my Road King. I like it. I just really wanted to get rid of the spokes and WWW's

I'm in the process of doing it, using the Airstrike wheel. Rolling diameter is very slightly larger (not enough to notice, I suspect), but the tread width and profile are very similar. I expect my bike to handle in a similar way, as far as steering is concerned, possibly feel a little different due to the lower profile tyre. I use Avon tyres in any event, to get the greater compliance they provide, over some other brands.
