Default Starting

Someone told me years ago that you have to ride the bike for 20 minutes to charge the battery back to where it was before starting...That's why I use a tender and don't start it in winter unless I going to ride it.

FWIW
My 14 Ultra wouldn't start after it sat in the garage for a week last summer, no tender. Everything "worked" but it wouldn't turn over.
I called the dealer they told me if it sat that long without the tender the battery went down due to all the electronis systems and the computer wouldnt let it turn over to keep what power was left for the electronics and throw the tender on it.
Sure enough it needed charging.
He also told me the bike charging system wont charge until the engine was running at least a certain RPM for a few minutes to make sure the electronic systems were set.

Put it on a battery tender. See if it charges, hopefully it does. Then start. If this works keep it on a battery tender when not in use. Don't start and let idle. This will bring condensation to all areas of the bike.

Even without a FOB present, the fuel pump will still energize.
But the starter will not engage.

The OP states he isn't even getting the fuel pump to energize.
On the 14's, without a FOB all you get is "enter pin" message, nothing else.

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread and I'm sorry that the OP is having this problem. My 2012 is always on a tender charge. Last week I went to take it out for a ride and it wouldn't start and the alarm kept going on. I changed the battery in the 2 fobs, still nothing worked. Even now, I'm able to override the security system by using the pin but the bike is not recognizing the fobs.

I apologize if I gave wrong information. It seemed just like my issue.

Have you checked that your new fob batteries are right side up? It happens.

Besides the upside down suggestion...how long have you had those batteries? Old stock? Are they correct for your FOB? Those areas are where your problem lies.

I bought and put in new batteries in both fobs. I can see 1 fob going bad but not both. Right now, the only way that I can start my bike is by-passing the security system by putting in the pin.

Oh, and yes the batteries are in the fob correctly. The + side of the battery is down, facing the + side of the fob.
