Congrats on the new bike! As far as your exhaust choice goes, if you are happy then its a good choice. CFR's Are loved for their sound but not their ability to make power. The Power Duals are a good pipe and should help in the power dept. Just ride it and see what you think. I was pretty impressed with the power of my RG in the stock form.
The Decision was quite tough because in all honesty I was trying to hold out for a Production Line Road Glide Ultra... So I decided to just make my own... It will suck if it comes liquid cooled which it probably will, But in all honesty all the friends I have that have the liquid cooled Ultra's aren't that blown away by it...they say its maybe 20% cooler.. I would much rather put a booming set of speakers in my lowers....But I'm certain that I'm going to be more than happy with my bike when I get it...in about two to three of the longest weeks of my life...
Congrats on the new bike.
I choose to install D&D 2-1 Boss Fat Cat. They sound awesome and make great power. Forum sponsor Fuel Moto is doing/have done testing for Performance. Check it out.
RGS15, I too wanted an Ultra, I'm almost done. I installed a decatted head pipe, with Screamin Eagle slip on's, Stage 1 Air Filter and download. So far I'm very happy with it. In fact it might be a little to loud for me. I know I know can never be too loud. I do a lot of work with PTSD Veterans don't want to upset them. Here's a shot of where I'm at. I've got about 29k invested so far so I'm cheaper then the CVO and I'm not water cooled.
UltraSteve,
How in the heck did you do all that work (colored headpipe, colored saddlebag guard, color matched Tour Pak and Passenger backrest with luggage rack, lowers, seat, rider backrest, mufflers, adjustable highway pegs, and windshield) for only 2K? The out the door price on a RGS is just over 27K, that's why I ask 2K.
Congrats. I have V&H Dresser Duals w/ Hi-Outputs. Nice deep rich rumble like the CFR's, as I've been told, but not as loud. Good luck with your choice.
I just jumped in the tank this week. Traded my 2103 CVO Road King on a Vivid black with blacked out front end, Black Blade cut wheels 18" front and Back, and Night Sticks.
Have to say I am really impressed with the performance out of the box and the handling of this bike. Thought I might miss the CVO but after the first few rides I don't think I will.
