those are very strong #s ericl, I bet you're really happy with results, I sure would be. The Andrews 48 has a great reputation indeed and my initial thought was 48 or 222.

Given the tremendous bottom end, does the 48 fall off pretty fast, or can you run it out to the top of the gear?

Understood. Clutch upgrade, compression release (103 heads if I want it set up for ACRs), potential oil cooler, the list just grows, and it's not something I want to do right now. But it's do-able, just takes time and $.

On my 09 FLHX 96", I went with the 555 cams in addition to S&S Power duals, RC slip-ons, FM Adjustable push rods, S&S lifters, AN Big Sucker AC, and Auto tuned with power vision. The results: Butt dyno says helluva improvement. On the highway, if I keep it under 80 MPH I can get around 44 +/- MPG. Above that, more like 35. At idle, it has a nice lope to it. I did have to go to stiffer clutch spring though. Someday I'll probably go with the 107 kit, but for now, I'm enjoying it.

I just threw on s&s 551 Ez starts on my 11 96 with powervision, FM head pipe, and I gotta say I absolutely love them. Big difference down low.

Did you bump the compression on your 96" ? I looked hard at the EZ start cams, but didn't quite get why a bolt-in cam for stock compression would need the EZ start feature? Or does it make for EZ starting regardless of compression.

My decision's been made, the Wood 555s are enroute. The journey continues...!

I had SE204's in mine for 20,000 miles, awesome cams is all I can say. If not the 204's then probably the 48's.

I had 26h on my 96" but wished I had gone with 48h's.. the 26's gave me that extra oomph I wanted going up inclines and to pass but the 48 seems a bit better...Many other great choices as well.

I ran the 48's in my 2010 96" for about 2k while I was saving up for the 107 build. Nice cam for all around touring bike. I will be listing them in the classified shortly as I took them out when I did the 107.

I also ran the 204's in the 09 96" motor for about 52k and liked them. The only issue that I had with them was they were a little flat on the bottom 2up. 2800rpm they come on strong and pull out until the heads run out of air. They also have that idle that people look for. Ideally these would be great with a compression bump but if you're going that far then well.....

Well, every now and then on hot days it would gimme that I dont wanna start turn over lol, and I figured since I was gonna change em why not....

its a bone stock 96 with AC, FM headpipe, dynojet PV with FM tune and bassani 36" cholos, not exactly a hotrod, i get that I lose power with that pipe setup, but I like the look.

I wanted something with power more so on the lowend, I do the occasonal 2up and mountain rides, I read these forums extensively, and figured S&S551 was my best option, although its not the most popular around here, Im really really happy with it, I dont have a dyno just yet, and it needs to be fine tuned, so itll only get better once that happens .Again, its no hotrod .....
