Hello all! Newbie here....perhaps this issue has been covered many times before, please forgive me if I bring it up one more time!
Here's my problem:
With bike off and in gear, pull the clutch lever, roll the bike forward/backwards I can feel a lot of drag, quite difficult to push....no drag with in neutral. Time for a new clutch or has the cable just stretched? Perhaps the clutch needs adjusted internally. I've never delt with clutches but have good shade-tree mechanic abilities. The bike's a 2002 RoadKing Classic with 26k miles. Thanks for your advice!
Does the bike want to creep forward while running and in gear and clutch engaged? I'm trying to recall, but I think what your describing isn't anything unusual (don't have mine readily available right now to compare). It's not difficult to adjust the clutch in the primary ... actually pretty easy but would first recommend getting the service manual. It's worth it's weight in gold.
The condition you describe is common with an oil bath/wet clutch because of the oil surrounding the plates.
Adjust the clutch using the factory recommended technique. Loosen the clutch cable, adjust the clutch, adjust the cable. Get the factory service manusl. Tools needed are simple.
T-27 Torx bit, 7/32 allen wrench, 11/16 socket, ft lbs. torque wrench, 1/2 and a 9/16 open end wrench. Simple procedure. Go for it.

My 07 EGS is almost impossible to push with the bike in gear and the clutch lever pulled in. It will also surge forwarda little when crancking the engine with the bike in gear and the clutch pulled in. Since it has done this since I rode it off the showroom floor I have just presumed it was normal.
