I got the road glide seat I bought off e bay and put it on my ultra last night. It's just what I was looking for, trying to get a little more leg room. Anybody over 6ft and feeling a little cramped on a e-glide try one of these, it really brings you back and down in the bike.
I just put one on my Ultra as well. Does yours slide ALL THE WAY up onto the tank? Also, does your saddlebag lid(s) touch the seat on the sides even the slightest?
Reason for asking this is I corrected these on mine but did experience this.
Also, the seat looks good, but I do hear/have heard that the seam that rides up the middle of the seat can be uncomfortable on long trips knawing at the buttocks for hours! We'll see.
My seat doesn't slide all the way up, but neither did the stock seat, I don't understand what you mean by the lids touching the seat?
Does the "front" of your saddlebags(near where you sit) come in contact with the sides of the RG seat at all? Mine did and I feared the seat would irritate the lid so I readjusted my saddlebag connectors to alleviate this.
BTW, the reason I'm asking these questions is that my stock Ultra Seat didn't create these issues, but they were easily fixed with a bit of tweaking. The seats(side by side in comparison)appeared to have the same dimensions, including the tongue that shoves up in the metal up front, but I did have to tweak the fitment to make it perfect.
Also, does your saddlebag lid(s) touch the seat on the sides even the slightest?
How did you correct this? The stock RG seat gets in the way of the lids when you open the saddlebags and unless you're VERY careful when opening the bags, you're eventually going to end up with some scuff marks on the inside corners of the lids.
You should be able to loosen the brackets that hold the wire clips that the twist locks go into. Basically you need to slide the entire bag back slightly.
You guys should really try a Corbin. HD just does't offer an all-day confortable seat imo.

That's what I perceived when I put mine on and I certainly didn't want scuff marks on my lids just for a seat change. I first pushed the seat as far up as I could get it, which also is adjusted a bit by thelittle metal fastener at the back of the seat, meaning I adjusted it a wee bit allowing it to stick out further, therefore in return, it held my seat further forward.
Next, I adjusted my saddlebag "locks"......the brackets on the bike itself where the twist-locks fasten too.....by moving them slightly rearward, all the time checking clearance underneath my saddlebags making sure they did not come in contact with the metal rail that runs along the bottom.
Perfect fit without any "contact" by either metal or leather. Lovin the look and the fit now.
