Do the 'stock' Danny Gray seats come with gel or memory foam in them or is that special order only? I went to their website and the 'customize your own' app they have wont let me just add gel without stitching or inserts. And the description of the seats dont state if they come with gel or memory foam by default. I could be blind though.
people that just sit on a seat once and take it off arent giving the seat a chance you need to break it in put some miles on and let form to you butt before you say its rock hard.
hard is not the problem. corbin seats are hard, but they are comfortable. i did give the dg seats a chance. it got to the point that after riding to the next town over (about 45 miles) i couldn't wait to get off the bike.
Thanks Guys for your opinion of Danny Gray seats, I still think I will go with them and try one, I have been talking to them and they have been very helpful.
A comfortable seat "for some" does not need to be thick with spongy foam padding. My wife and I really love my DG longhaul 2up with built in airhawk coushion. I can ride twice as long as I would with the stock seat. (of course the stock seat on the 10 sucked pretty bad especially for the passenger)

be sure and come back on here after you get it so we can make fun of...... i mean, let us know how you like it
I have the IST Tour-ist for my FLHXS. Took it out for the first time today and thought it was super comfortable. It's a touring seat, not what you are looking for, but quality and comfort on this one is top notch.
You should start a new thread with a review on this seat. I have seen many people inquire about it but there is no thorough review out there.
I ride a DG Airhawk Longhaul 2 Up XL on my 2014 K. I put the DG on after riding a hammock for 4k mi that just never did feel right. After riding the DG for more than 8k mi, I'm very satisfied with the comfort & the looks.
Can't speak for the standard DG seats, but the Airhawks are pretty damn comfortable IMHO.
I don't believe gel is an option from DG. Their comfort option is the Airhawk air bladders, so look at models from that series for ultimate comfort. From other comments, sounds like the standard models might be a bit hard. They also offer a line called IST, but I have no experience to share on those models, other than to say they're a bit ugly looking.
