I guess floating a couple hundo to my buddy for wiring my 18's up and swapping out my black front end is pretty damn good then .. 3k... Thats a looooot of parts
Well Granooch, I see there on. Who did them? You didn't pay that 3 grand did you??????
You say at this time in your life that you'll pay someone to do the work. You mite want to rethink that.
It's one thing to pay labor to help stimulate the economy, it's quite another to try to make your monthly nut off one customer!! Dayum!! He must not have wanted the job!!
Good luck!!
monthly nut nothing! if he has done 2000 of these jobs, at $3000 each, thats 6 million bucks! with that kind of scratch, i would expect to be seeing him on the next TLC reality show.
I think I know the name of the shop in Deep Ellum. I usually take my bike to Maverick's in Carrollton, but they run $80 per hour

Now I can do it myself, but I am at the point in my life where paying to have it done is just worth saving the time, especially with a 16" apes install.
The awesome price? Just over $3,000. That is with me supplying the bars. I think that even at my dealer's $110 labor rate I can get it done there for half of that.
Honestly I don't know if I should be insulted that I was quoted over 35 hours of labor (their rate is $85 supposedly), or if I should just commend them for getting people to pay these inflated prices.
He said that he has done about 2,000 ape installs. If someone that has done this two THOUSAND times needs a standard work week to get 16" apes installed, I would hate to see what an engine rebuild would cost.
How do you keep a straight face when someone tells you $3000 for that!!! I put 12 apes on my 2010 Road Glide. $200 for apes, $100 for the NAMZ extension kit (which I didn't use, put on if I wanted to go higher in the future), $30 for a heat shrink gun and $290 for a Hogtunes speaker & amp kit. Let's see.... Carry the one..... Nope, not $3000!!! I spent about 12hrs doing it, first time ever doing anything like it too.
