so my 2007 headpipe has 18mm non heated O2 sensors up by the engine, and I want the newer headpipe exhaust style where the rear pipe bends by the tranny/clutch cover.
I want to switch to a newer style headpipe to make a custom 2 into 1 side dump exhaust.
Option A:
I wanted to find a 2009 headpipe which has the same bends that I want, and it has 18mm bungs in the correct spot, however i cant find a 2009 headpipe ANYWHERE! i've called around all the dealers in my location and nothing. Nothing on ebay, and nothing from local shops.
Option B:
Is to have 18mm bungs welded in the higher spot and plug the 12mm bungs?
Option A would obviously be easier and more of a plug and play application but I have having a hard time finding that style. Option B has more issues but I beleive can be achieved.
Option C, S&S Power Tune duals have the bung where you want it and has provisions for either 12 or 18 mm sensors and they look better to me than the stock 07 headpipes. There was a frame change between the two years, will the later model even fit?

I dont want the 2007 headpipe as I already have it on the bike... I have that and I want to upgrade to the newer style. Reason why I want to use a stock pipe is that I am cutting it and modding it to make a side dump exhaust. I don't want to buy a nice quality expensive aftermarket headpipe, only to hack it to what i need.
It will fit with mods. IF you are going to cut it up anyway, go for it.
Try a 2010 head pipe from. Road glide. Came from factory as a 2 into one.
will need to add bungs but might reduce fab time
Did Harley make a Street Glide or a Road Glide Custom that had a OEM 2 into 1 a few years back ?
I am sure the MoCo dose make a 2 into 1 for the 2012 Dyna Switchback with 18 mm O2 bungs.
I think the part number is 65551-12 but it cost a lot $634.99 retail. You are almost in aftermarket
cost for a 2 into 1 system at that. Plus I am not sure it would fit a Touring model.
I don't think a 2009 OEM head pipe is going to fit on a 2007 without a lot of fabrication. The reason being that the frames were all changed in model year 2009. Prior to 2009 all touring bikes had the Y configuration on the exhaust. In 2009 they redesigned the rear exhaust to curve around the cam chest in order to get heat away from the passenger and do away with the problem of the Y pipes cracking at the junction. At least that is how I remember it.
