OIL THREAD HIJAAK????

Well...I bought the bike as a leftover in 2010, part of the sales deal was 3 years of maintenance for FREE (what's in the book... add for any extras like syn oil) So, I was cheap and stuck with dino oil for the 1st 3 years (about 60k). I think I got my monies worth on the service promotion.
When I took over maintenance I switched to Mobile 1 VTwin.

After experimenting on past rides, I've stuck with Dunlop tires and am thoroughly impressed with their performance and lifespan. Aside from the motor oil, I run Redline shockproof in the transmission, and rotella in the primary. I do 5k change on the motor and 10k on the other two fluids.
I had an inner primary bearing failure early on, and have replaced in several more times whenever it has been apart. I upgraded the clutch and spring somewhere along the line, installed the 255 cams.

Last summer, I had a transimission seal leak that was on the main gear which requires dissassembly of the transmisison. After looking at lots of options, I ended up getting the trans rebuilt by Baker for less than I could have done it for (with cost of tools etc.), and upgraded the compensator while in there (I think the comp failure contributed to the trans failure). Replace a stator just after that

Since the forks were due for the 50k service, I upgraded the front end this xmas.

One interesting thing...when I had the primary off for the cams/compensator, I did notice that the shop that had done the previous IPB job did not put in the circlip correctly (blocked the oil journal). This kind of thing is mainly why I do my own work. I would really prefer not to.
