Default Ultra classic problem

I have a '99 Ultra Classic fuel injected . Lately the check engine light will come on while going down the road. It has only 20,000 miles and is clean as the day it rolled out of Harley.

When the light comes on it stays for a while, then goes off.

Now I'm one of the lucky ones....I have a diagnostic center in my garage, every time I get this......later at home, I plug in and no fault codes. I have the capability of running a complete diagnostic with my machine, but everything checks out. Not that it makes any difference, but I can also delete all old and new codes and start from scratch.

Does anyone else have this light problem?

If I remember correctly the engine light is related to a sudden loss of correct air/fuel ratio. It will disappear without leaving trace as soon as clean combustion is re-established.

Thanks....I kinda figured it was something like that, I couldn't find anything at all that was wrong and the bike has never missed a beat.....Now I do know from experience that if you run to the edge of the RPM range, the light will come on briefly....and that would be a fuel /air imbalance.
I've got a '91 soft tail also with a good old S&S on it and she never misses a beat!

the MM EFI was a mess

when introduced in 1995 the MM EFI provided less power, less MPG and more emissions than the stock CV carb.

I stayed on carbed bikes until my 2009...by 2007 the HD EFI finally joined 1980 and added o2 sensors

I still have a bunch of carb bikes too
