Oil drip into breather
I got my 107 done and dynoed again with a new intake and exhaust. Problem is the intake I got didnt have any where for the oil vent to go so my crank pressurized and puked into the air cleaner. I ran it for probably 30 minutes before I figured out where it was coming from.... I picked up another filter kit with the back plate that vents into the throttle body.
Now it quit pouring out, but now I'm getting an oil drip from the vent. It went from just vapor in the first 600 miles to a steady drip from the air cleaner where it pooled inside.
Am I not getting good enough vent for my 107? Did I mess up a ring causes my cylinder to pressurize the crank case? I won't be able to do a compression test until I get home with it
Thanks!
Jake

Before venting externally.

After venting externally.

Well it started slobbering out of the intake again. Everytime we stop for fuel, I can pop off the air cleaner and oil runs onto the cam chest cover. I consumed right around 1/2-3/4 quart in right around 3000 miles
I'm thinking I boogered up one of the breather assemblies in the rocker box. I don't think I spun the piston rings around by pushing oil passed them because I have been getting decent mileage still with great power. (35mpg+ at 80mph riding 2 up and bags stuffed full)
Any other suggestions? I'm probably going to pop the tank and rocker covers off and check out the top end gaskets and breathers when I get it back in the garage

There will always be some oil, which is why we strongly recommend venting to the outside.
Where are you running your oil level, and what ambient temps are you running in?
Some really good info in the following link about proper oil level and oil weight.

I had a chance to talk to fuel moto this morning and Brian said it was normal for them to leave the oil level at the add mark when doing in house builds.
I checked it in the stand when I got home yesterday. It was probably 55F and bike had been off for a full day. The oil level lands right on, or a hair below the second square from "add a quart". I think ill try taking it down to the bottom of dipstick and run 90mi to work that way
The compression tester I have has 3 fittings but none were small enough for the 96" plug hole.
When I get bored this summer/fall I will probably fab my own breather set but will probably see if I can drain into the exhaust. I had looked at doing this with a 4cyl diesel project I put together because it leaves a black drip after shut down on nice clean pavement....
