I have a question about baffle size and performance. This started out as a problem with my Rush High Out put Headers with Big Louie installation. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-mufflers.html
What it came down to is the 2.00 in Baffles cause some kind of Reversion problem or something or maybe the 2.00's are just bad. Anyway, When I put the 2.25's in it sounds good and runs strong. The problem is its a little louder than I wanted.
If I install 1.75 will it do the same thing as the 2.00's or was it just some freaky thing that happens with that size baffle. A tinney rattling sound on decel.
how will performance be affected by running a smaller baffle ? I think I read somewhere a smaller baffle will give more low end torq or something.
Interested in this as well. I have the same head pipe I'm about to install when I get my cams done. Haven't purchased mufflers yet and I was about to buy the louies with 2inch baffles. Now maybe i wont. Plus I want to keep the noise down too.
