Had my 01 Road King for many years. Ran great. Little engine work with a small cam done before purchase. The old type Cobra die and I replaced it with a Power Commander. Dumped the closet map I could find to get it running. Plan on getting a dyno. Stopped by Tilley's (local HD dealer) and they get 6 hrs labor-$500 for this. Ouch. Plan on going with a local, just checking prices. Last dyno I paid for was 07. It was couple hundred dollars. What the average price of a dyno nowadays?
First off Welcome to the Forum. You'll find a lot of good information and members. You'll also find the occasional rectal orifice, just remember there's more good guys. Locally King's Custom's in Batavia tunes for 350 dollars.
Bill
I'm up here in Ohio (freezing my *** off) I found a local guy. He charges $250. Said it takes about 4 hours. I just finished installing Screamin Eagle 255 cams in my 11 EGC. I have the PCV on the bike already. Most the dealers within 2 hours of me quoted $400 plus. There were only 2 that would work with the Power Commander. One dealer I wouldn't let change the air in my tires. The other had a good rep, then I talked to the dyno tech and decided he was a moron and wasn't gonna touch my bike. Good luck. Hope you find a reasonable deal from a reputable shop.
My dealer charges $350 for dyno. I bought my whole stage 1 from them and they charged 5 hrs ($360) for installing everything and the dyno. I think I got a good deal.
First question ya need to ask the dyno guy is if he can tune MM fuel injection.
This is a good question to ask........
I've never owned/tuned an MM FI bike, but in talking to some knowledgeable tuners, I learned that the MM FI is a different beast. Certainly not the same as the delphi nor easy to tune.....
